After completing his schooling, he served in the Media Division of the South African Navy as a Training Aids Technologist. During this time, he honed a diverse skill set that included sign writing, technical drawing, lettering, murals, certificates, illustrations, cartooning, training manuals, print layout, and training video graphics. This extensive training provided him with a comprehensive commercial art background, setting the stage for his professional journey.

He successfully operated his own signage and print businesses, delivering high-quality services to clients and consulting for other signage businesses.
